How to clean the hydraulic jack?

If the hydraulic jack is very dirty during use, it should be cleaned in a timely manner. This not only extends the service life of the hydraulic jack, but also enables better use of the hydraulic jack.

So how should we clean the hydraulic jack? Hydraulic jacks must undergo strict cleaning before installation and operation, with the aim of removing welding slag, metal powder, rust, fragments of sealing materials, paint, and coatings from the inside of the hydraulic jack. Otherwise, the hydraulic jack cannot function properly, affecting the service life of the components and even causing major accidents. This also needs to be noted when using hydraulic wrenches.

(1) The first cleaning of the hydraulic jack was carried out by dismantling all the pipelines after pre installation (trial assembly and piping).

The first cleaning should ensure that a large amount of obvious and potentially cleaned metal burrs and powders, sand dust, paint coatings, iron oxide scales, oil stains, cotton yarn, rubber particles, and other dirt are carefully and thoroughly cleaned. Otherwise, the first installation of the hydraulic jack is not allowed.

The first cleaning time depends on the size of the hydraulic jack, the required filtration accuracy, and the degree of contamination of the hydraulic jack. Generally, it takes 1-2 days and nights. After reaching the predetermined cleaning time, it can be determined whether the cleaning work is completed based on the types and quantities of impurities filtered in the filter screen. Hydraulic pullers also need to be clear after use.

(2) The purpose of the second cleaning is to remove any remaining dirt after the first installation, such as sealing fragments, different qualities of cleaning oil and rust proof oil, as well as sand particles washed from the interior of the casting and powder obtained from metal grinding. Then, the second installation is carried out to form a formal system, ensuring the smooth adjustment and normal operation of the formal commissioning.

The cleaning time varies depending on the complexity of the hydraulic jack, the required filtration accuracy, and the degree of contamination of the hydraulic jack. After reaching the predetermined cleaning time, the second cleaning work can be concluded based on the type and quantity of impurities filtered in the filter screen to determine whether the cleaning purpose has been achieved.
